Bachelor Project natural interfaces
Ever wanted to experience how colour would sound? Or what kind of feeling sound has? With this project we combined our senses into a special experience with sound, feeling and colour.
This project started with an assignment from Playgrounds Digital Arts Festival. Design and build an interactive installation that fascinates and educates the visitor. We focused on the question: how can we trigger the senses of the visitor and let them experience their senses in a different way.
We did this by developing a glove that has different sounds at a certain colour, pattern and structure. Therefore you can create your own symphony by touching different colours, patterns and structure.
Team Bachelor Project 2.4 – CMD
In collaboration with: Playground Digital Art Festival
Together with:Fabienne Frijters; Mick Dijsselbloem; Melissa Wullems; Max van Zundert; Lindsey van Eekelen
Key learning points: Iterative process; idea generation; prototyping ; User-centered design processes and approaches; Arduino
My tasks consisted of research, idea generation, execution of usability tests, design prototypes and developing the product. Developing the product consisted of building the installation with group members and programming the glove and headphones with one groupmember and an Arduino Lilypad.
